The XW milling and excavating machine can be installed on any type of hydraulic excavator, efficiently replacing general configurations such as digging buckets, crushing hammers, and hydraulic shears. It is applied in multiple fields such as open-pit coal mines, tunnel excavation and contour correction, channel groove milling, asphalt concrete pavement milling, rock permafrost milling, and tree root milling. The milling and excavating machine provides a new construction method for tunnel excavation.

In order to analyze the working characteristics of the milling and digging machine, the dynamic simulation of the whole process of mining hydraulic milling and digging machine is done.

Firstly, the 3D model of the milling head is guided into hypermesh and combined with the rock solid model established in it. The 3D models of the drilling and milling of the milling head and the transverse milling are respectively established. The K document suitable for LS_DYNA calculation was derived based on mesh division, important basic parameters, bundle and boundary definition, and calculation Settings. The K file was introduced into ANSYS/LS_DYNA10.0 to carry out the calculation, and the force diagram of the milling cutter under two conditions was obtained.

The conclusion of dynamic simulation analysis shows that there are great differences in the external force on the milling cutter of each mining hydraulic milling and digging machine, which will immediately cause the vibration of milling and digging head and the impact load of milling and digging cutter to increase. Therefore, the paper further carries out scientific research on the core of the main parameter of the external force, the radial interval of the milling cutter, and obtains a more effective radial interval value of the cutter. The dynamic simulation analysis of the milling and digging head after adjustment is further carried out. The results show that the force difference of each milling and digging tool after adjustment is significantly reduced, and the overall force of the milling and digging head is also reduced, which indicates that it is reasonable to adjust the radial interval of the milling and digging tool to make the force of the milling and digging head more effective. Then it lays the foundation for the further overall improvement of the main parameters of milling cutter in the later scientific research.
