A spiral drill bit mainly consists of a drill tip, spiral blades (screws), and connecting flanges. Structurally, it can be divided into two main categories: straight spiral and conical spiral. Straight spiral structures, depending on the number of drill bits and spirals, can be further subdivided into various forms such as single-screw, double-screw, and double-screw. The pitch (helix angle) of the drill bit varies depending on the geological conditions and soil-throwing performance requirements. Spiral blades are mostly made of cast steel, while the drill tip and connecting flange are often made of wear-resistant, high-carbon steel with precision machining.
The drill tip, connecting flange, and drill rod of a spiral drill bit are typically made of high-carbon steel with precision machining to enhance wear resistance. Regarding cutting tools, rock spiral drill bits use imported American cutting teeth with tungsten-cobalt cemented carbide inlaid at the tip, suitable for weathered bedrock, well-cemented gravel and pebble strata, and permafrost. Soil spiral drill bits use shovel-shaped wear-resistant alloy bucket teeth, suitable for loose strata such as soil and sand above the groundwater level.
